Stylised interior environment

'The Shape of Water' by Guillermo del Toro is a period romantic dark fantasy film about a lonely mute janitor who forms a unique relationship with an amphibious creature. I redesigned the dining room of the main character (Elisa) to be stylised; mainly taking inspiration from 'Despicable Me' as well as aquatic shapes. The concept was designed in Procreate, all material painting done in Substance Painter, all modelling and lighting done in Maya (Arnold) and all compositing done in Nuke.

This is the second stage of my stylised redesign of the period drama dark fantasy film 'The Shape of Water'. I made an animation of the room underwater inspired by the dream scene in the opening sequence of the film using Maya and Nuke. All animation, effects and lighting were achieved in Maya with the compositing done in Nuke. I animated the caustics gobo in Nuke as well.
